Monogram

The Monogram Kits I remember to have built in my youth were the T-28A Trainer, the Cessna 180 with floats and the Wright Brothers Kitty Hawk. They belong to the second phase of my modelling in the early 1960's. It was the time of "working" kits. Monogram being in company with AURORA, REVELL and LINDBERG kits (see How it all Began).

The HU-16B Albatros belongs to my third phase of modelling. Togethter with the Airfix Boeing 314 and some Tri-ang kits it survived as unbuilt kit, wereas all built-up models were lost. The Albatros has the Blue Border Box packing style  which was a reissue from 1967.

When I started to update this page to the current format I realized how much I neglected this brand. I was  not even aware that the T--28 and  the Cessna 180 which I bought in the early 2000's were 1990's reissues and not original 1950's issues.
