Introduction (as to 09.September 2006 )
This page evolved from reapraising my personal history of becoming an aviation enthusiast.
In the section How it all Began I try to write down what I remember from my personal modelling history.
Since April 2003, when I dicovered , I search for and buy plastic kits I remember to have built from the end of the 50´s to the end of the 60´s.
So the section Plastic Kits 50´s and 60´s provides a nostalgic review of kits I remember to have built in my youth.
Dealing with these fond memories , quickly led me to the expansion of the original theme . So you will find in this section as well kits issued in this period which I do not remember but which I discovered and learned to like in present days searching for and collecting kits I built in earlier days.
In Plastic Kits 1970 up there will be reviewed plastic kits which do not fit in the above theme.
I ceased building plastic kits at the end of the 60´s. All these kits have been lost. At the end of the 70´s and again in the mid 80´s I collected civil propeller aircraft and 50´s military jets for short periods each. Contrary to the former, these unbuilt kits are present and intact, having rested in big packing cases since and deserve to be presented here.
Being a fanatic aircraft type collector, I naturally expanded the scope further while collecting kits in my reappraisal of my modelling history Getting in contact with the model kit world again tempted me to buy and collect plastic kits developed and issued after 1970 even contemporary ones as new, which do not have any connection to my modelling past.

Introduction
Not least to the influence of Plastic Aircraft Kits of the Twentieth Century (Pak-20) from John W. Burns which introduced me to such a wealth of unknown brands I generally got interested in the history of plastic kits.
I do not collect kits because they are rare or made valuable by others. I´m rather gathering kits. I ´m not confined to one or a few manufacturers but will treat as much different brands as possible.
Originally this site has been a section of my
Aviation Entusiast Pages, which has been split in three independent sites:
- Aerobatics and Flight Dynamics in PC-Simulation: here
- Aircraft Type Collection: here
- Nostalgic Look at Kits of the 50´s and 60´s : this site
I include a link to the still very uncomplete section Aircraft Books 50´s and 60´s which will provide a nostalgic review of aviation books and magazines I remember to have read and collected from the end of the 50´s to the end of the 60´s which. In a similar way as kits, these books shaped my interest in aviation and were even more important.

Remark: This site serves as a growing plastic kit database, too. That means that the contents will increase and change constantly but irregularily. There will be sections that will contain just pictures for a while without any comments.
